Dr. Alexa Alborzi has been in the private practice of orthodontics since 1990. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned her B.A. degree in Biochemistry. In 1990, she received her dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She earned her Orthodontics Certificate and Master’s Degree in Dental Sciences at the University of Connecticut. The three additional years of training required for a master’s degree and more than 50 hours of continuing education, annually, have provided Dr. Alborzi with her level of expertise in orthodontics. She was faculty member of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry for over 14 years.

Dr. Alborzi is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Becoming a Board Certified orthodontist was important to Dr. Alborzi because it showed her commitment to continuing education and excellence in orthodontics. The requirements for Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics are graduation from an ADA accredited orthodontic institution, successful completion of a written examination, detailed presentation of completed cases and continued maintenance of skills in diagnosis and treatment demonstrated by periodic re-examination and presentation of patient records.

In her spare time Dr. Alborzi enjoys spending time with her son Alexander snow skiing and bicycling.

Dr. Golnaz Ashraf received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco. She graduated with highest honors and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Tau Kappa Omega national honor societies. She was a faculty member at UOP and also worked as a general dentist before her orthodontic education. She received her Masters in Orthodontics from UOP and was the winner of the highest scholarship awarded in her graduating class. She has been involved in orthodontic research in the Craniofacial Research Instrumentation Laboratory since 2001.

Dr. Ashraf is a member of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Ahsraf enjoys time spent with her husband and family, as well as playing the piano and staying fit.
