Dr. Alexa Alborzi has been in the private practice of orthodontics since 1990. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned her B.A. degree in Biochemistry. In 1990, she received her dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She earned her Orthodontics Certificate and Master’s Degree in Dental Sciences at the University of Connecticut. The three additional years of training required for a master’s degree and more than 50 hours of continuing education, annually, have provided Dr. Alborzi with her level of expertise in orthodontics. She has been a faculty member of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry since 1994.

Dr. Alborzi is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Becoming a Board Certified orthodontist was important to Dr. Alborzi because it showed her commitment to continuing education and excellence in orthodontics. The requirements for Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics are graduation from an ADA accredited orthodontic institution, successful completion of a written examination, detailed presentation of completed cases and continued maintenance of skills in diagnosis and treatment demonstrated by periodic re-examination and presentation of patient records.

In her spare time Dr. Alborzi enjoys spending time with her son Alexander snow skiing and bicycling.
